Modern Foreign Languages Competition
On Friday 16th March, a group of 9 students from year 7 to year 12 took part in a regional Modern Foreign Languages Competition in Barnstaple. All students prepared a 2 minute speech in either French or Spanish and presented this in front of a hall full of around 100 other competitors and teachers.
Everyone worked very hard in the run up to the competition and performed brilliantly, despite their nerves, and I was very impressed by the exceptionally high standard of all of the students, not only in terms of their linguistic ability but also their confidence, presentation skills and humour. In particular, congratulations need to go to Margaux, Emily and Rebecca who came runner-up in their categories and Maggie and Izzy who won their categories, with Izzy named as overall winner but all students should be very proud of their achievements.
